Industry-Institute Conclave

Know-how to Show-how

Preamble

The GDP of India is among the fastest growing in the world and is predicted to be about 7%. India stands tall as the 5th largest economy in the world at 3.75 trillion USD.  Further, India is striving to become the 3rd largest economy in the next five years to cross 5 trillion USD.  To reach 5 trillion USD and to move up to 3rd spot, several drivers are identified such as semiconductor manufacturing in India, digitalization, digital payments, building a strong and vibrant start-up ecosystem, increasing the agriculture production, increasing the export volume, increasing the FDI etc.

Some factors that are necessary to make India as one of the top three largest economies are to build a strong ecosystem of innovation, protection of Innovations using Intellectual property rights (IPRs), building and implementing models to monetize and securitize IP, developing technology transfer processes and offices, building robust product insurance regimes, effectively contribute to international standards and adjudicate the conflicts.

It is necessary that a deep and engaging discussion is held around each of the topics to put forward a holistic solution in the form of a policy paper and / or research paper(s) to enable the government, judiciary, industry, researchers, policymakers, subject matter experts (SMEs), academia, startups, MSMEs, and professionals (hereinafter “ecosystem partners”) to have a common understanding of these complex topics.

Conclave Objective

The Organizers of this conclave aim to have a series of such conferences, discussion forums, and working groups to create one or more policy papers and research papers.

As a first step, this conclave envisages to bring together stakeholders from diverse backgrounds to collectively discuss and share the best-known methods to build the future of IP protection, enforcement, technology transfer, commercialization, and licensing contracts. By bridging theory and practice, the conclave offers actionable insights, roadblocks, solutions/strategies fostering a vibrant IP ecosystem that encourages innovation, build a balanced ecosystem to protect the rights of the creators and the users of IP, and drive economic development.
